I found these videos on YouTube whilst looking up information on Joseph Merrick. They are about Neurofibromatosis, which is one of the two main disorders scientists think Merrick might have had (the other being Proteus Syndrome.)
If nothing else, watch the first one. It is a quick PSA about Neurofibromatosis featuring a charming man named Reggie Bibbs.
This video is about the same man from the first. It is about 45 minutes long, and while the whole thing is interesting, the interview from about 16:00-24:00 is the most interesting and relevant part.
